Shasta College employee help fund

This fund is set up to provide direct support to pass donations (non-tax deductible) through to Shasta College employees affected by the the Carr fire. As the college president, I am establishing this fundraising campaign as the direct way to help our staff. A small committee is being started to coordinate the distribution of the funds raised to meet the needs of our employees over the coming weeks, especially focused on those who have lost their homes. No checks will be accepted, please only donate on-line through this venue. We are tracking many in our Shasta College family who have been affected, and we desire to meet the needs of our friends and colleagues, especially those who have lost their homes. Therefore we plan to prioritize use of funds raised to those who have lost their homes. An initial goal of $50,000 has been set. Thank you!

2. Your relationship or contact to the parties you're raising funds for
The parties we are raising funds for are employees of Shasta College who have been affected by the Carr fire, with first focus on those who have lost their homes.
3. How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible)
Our plan is to verify those employees who have lost their homes, and then pass the funds raised directly to them to help with their recovery expenses. A small committee is being set up of employee group leaders to help manage this process in an equitable manner.
4. Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the ultimate beneficiary/ies
As the beneficiaries are yet to be verified (as of this writing, we know of 9 employees who have reported that they lost their homes in the fire), the committee will work with the college to withdraw the funds raised and get checks directly to the employees as soon as practicable.
