Sharon Atnip needs our Help!

Folks of New Town... have you ever visited the Friend Bench?! If so, you have met New Town's own, Sharon Atnip and have been greeted with a smile, a belly laugh, a story or two, and more than likely, a beautiful photo!
Earlier this summer Sharon began to experience extreme and intense back pain. The struggles of this caused her to miss significant amounts of work, which in turn, resulted in the loss of her job.
After a recent and serious bout with bacterial pneumonia, which landed her in the hospital, they realized what was causing the horrible back pain and other ailments.
On August 10th Sharon was diagnosed with inoperable lung and brain cancer. They are in the process of "staging" her now and determining what other areas (if any) the cancer has spread.
Doctors are planning for her to begin treatment for the brain cancer to slow its progression, which will hopefully reduce some of the overwhelming side effects associated with this type of cancer.
During this same period, Sharon (and her husband Randy, who is already on disability), lost their only car. She is in the process of applying for disability and Medicaid to assist in helping with on-going medical bills and living expenses, but this will take some time.
Transportation, medical costs/prescriptions, and general living expenses are the Atnip’s main areas of concern at this time. ANY help you are able to provide is so wonderfully and graciously appreciated.
It is hard to ask for help, and we pray we never have to, but unfortunately, sometimes it is necessary to reach out to family, friends, and community and ASK for their love and support. We are hopeful Sharon and Randy have as smooth a road ahead of them as possible and anything we can do to support them will help, and they do need the help.
