Most of us in our lives have been affected by cancer in one way or another, whether it be a personal journey or perhaps losing a loved one or friend.
For me on the 27/02/17 cancer took My best friend, My soul mate, My Mum. Cancer left me with birthday cards that will never be written on, memories yet to be made and a pain within my heart that will never be mended.
Even while Mum was sick she continued to try and help everyone else. She was an asset to this world and changed so many peoples lives for the better.
The reasons for creating the Charity Sharon’s Wish Incorporated:
When my Mum was sick she would suffer from neck pain amongst pain in her lungs etc. Both while going undergoing treatment and at home (some treatments are up to 9 hours) .When she was in hospital I came across a beautiful lady also in the terminal phase of her cancer who had a therapeutic pillow given to her because she had breast cancer. I thought my “goodness” these therapeutic pillows would be great for Mum . There are all different types for all types of cancer, but only breast cancer patients right now receive one. This led both Mum and I to thinking all cancers are important and everyone suffering from this terrible disease should be entitled to a therapeutic pillow. These pillows will honestly make the world of difference to patients overall comfort ,whether it be in their terminal phase or whilst undergoing treatment.
So here I present to you Sharon’s Wish we are starting out small at Westmead hospital with Lung Cancer therapeutic pillows and branching out to other therapeutic pillows for different types of cancers and then into other hospitals around NSW. These pillows will make a world of difference to cancer patients providing them with comfort during their treatment and at home.
My Mum really did make a difference in this world she filled it with love , light, fun and happiness and changed so many people’s lives for the better . She always put everybody else before herself and now she is even going to make a difference after she is no longer physically here through Sharon’s Wish Incorporated .
So fly high beautiful angel ,
