Sharon Niedholdt-Mullis Scholarship Fund

As some of you may know, Sharon Niedholdt-Mullis passed away suddenly in February, 2018. Anyone who has ever had the pleasure to march with Sharon knows how much the Lake Park Marching Band meant to her.
To honor Sharon Niedholdt-Mullis, Lake Park Marching Band Alumni and Friends, in conjunction with Lake Park Band Auxiliary, have created the Sharon Niedholdt-Mullis Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to one current, Lake Park Marching Band AND Concert Band Student in grades 9-11 to supplement a portion of their marching fees for the upcoming season and school year.
Sharon started band in high school as a somewhat shy, self-conscious freshman, unsure of her abilities and doubting even if she would be able to accomplish the physical and musical tasks of marching and concert bands. She quickly found her place in the band family and grew to love her responsibility to her section and the band while benefiting from their support.
Sharon worked very hard, pushing herself to succeed. She became flute section leader in marching band, working with her peers and raising their performance level. She accepted responsibility for her section and helped them to succeed, both as a group and as individuals.
Sharon exemplified the devotion to the success of others that makes for their true achievement and makes the success of the band program possible. She was, by all measure, a true leader.
Please join us to fund this scholarship and honor Sharon's memory, as well as give back to the program that we all were proud to be a part of. $500 will be awarded to a recipient each year.
This year's inaugural ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 2nd at the Lake Park Finale Concert. The recipient will be selected on Friday, April 19 at 10AM.
