Sam Edwardes from Suffolk Park was surfing at Belongil Beach on the 17th February when he was attacked by a shark. He received significant injuries to his leg and will require surgery and ample time to rehabilitate. While he works full time as a special needs teacher it is a casual position and he will have to pay for his living expenses throughout his rehabilitation. This page has been set up to ease the burden on Sam and his family during this traumatic time. **1 in 20 people donate blood and 1 in 2 people will need it during their lifetime - please donate blood ❤**

Hi friends! I was in the operating theatre when this was set up. So I was never expecting it. But I am overwhelmed with all your generosity. Thank you SO much. I am recovering really well. Your extremely generous offerings will be gratefully used to go towards lost income, rehabilitation costs, a new bike and a nice new surfboard! Thank you so much. Any remaining funds will be forwarded on to the Westpac Rescue Service and the Make A Wish Foundation for children with critical illness. Love Sam.
