I am Jean Clark, and the driving force of my life is to share love. When I received a diagnosis of stage three breast cancer in 2016 my response was to cement who God is and to remind myself of who I am.
I felt bewildered and frightened and yet I knew either way my journey would be a win-win. I trusted God to heal me. After the treatment plan that included 2 surgeries, 8 rounds of chemotherapy, and 6 weeks of radiation, I heard those precious words, "Mrs. Clark you are in remission!"
It was during the time of chemotherapy treatment that my heart of love for others led me to offer comfort to fellow people battling this challenging disease of cancer. While in treatment, I recognized that many people were without support, including simple items like a pillow, that would provide comfort during their strenuous time at the treatment center.
My heart for others led me to use love as a weapon for supporting my fellow cancer survivors by making pillows, that I affectionately call "LOVEYS." Seeing their struggles and desiring to help ease their discomfort, I gathered the strength to cut, stitch, and stuff over 150 LOVEYS. Instead of accepting the defeating diagnosis, I created LOVEYS for others as part of my pathway to wholeness.
Meanwhile, my Life Group was seeking a service project and once they learned about LOVEYS, they eagerly offered their help. As a result of our work, a grand total of over 250 pillows have been donated to patients at the West Cancer Clinic! We gave these pillows as a gift and a show of support as they are going through the healing process. We were so excited that the LOVEY that had been a source of ongoing comfort and security for me was now shared with other people!
As the movement has grown and the demand for LOVEYS has increased, I am asking for hearts around the world to join forces with me in creating more LOVEYS and changing more lives!
A LOVEY is a reflection of healing, victory, connection, and LOVE - all of the ingredients which can help a person become emotionally stronger and better equipped to defeat cancer and other illnesses!
With your support, LOVEYS can be shared with everyone including children at St. Jude and Lebonheur Hospital, as well as the West Cancer Center. Your support will ensure that my passion for helping others remains fulfilled and that healing hearts WILL be shared with the people who need them the most during a very difficult time in their lives.
Proceeds from the LOVEY campaign will fund the continuation of the production and distribution of LOVEYS for a love connection.
