Help Phillies Bridge Farm Project share the bounty with those in need!

At Phillies Bridge Farm Project in Gardiner, NY, we're honored to be a part of the Hudson Valley's rich and abundant food culture. At the same time, within an hour’s drive of our farm, there are still thousands of people living in USDA-designated “food deserts”: areas without access to healthy food options.

Here at the farm, we've long been committed to fighting food insecurity through our Farm to Families initiative. To go a step further, in 2017, we introduced our “Sliding-Scale CSA”, which provides our CSA subscriptions at a significant discount to families in need. Demand for the program has increased greatly since then, and this year Sliding-Scale applications make up 15% of all of our CSA sign-ups (for an explanation of what a CSA is, see the section below).

The need for food justice is clear. But to expand access, we need your help. Please consider a donation to help support and expand our Sliding Scale CSA program.

How can I help?

Any amount of donation will have an enormous impact - your dollar will go to someone in our community looking to afford healthy produce.

-   A recurring donation of $20 each week throughout the season, or $80 each month, will fully cover a small share for another community member - enough produce for two people over the 24-week season.

-   A recurring donation of $31.25 each week, or $133 a month, will provide a large share, enough for a 4-person family throughout the season.

Our current goal for this season is to raise $3000 toward our Sliding-Scale CSA, which would greatly increase our acceptance rate. However, if we can make  $5000 in donations, we can fully fund the Sliding-Scale CSA program for the year and provide food to all who applied.

What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a unique business model that aims to build a sustainable relationship between the farmer and the consumer.

In a CSA relationship, we the farmers essentially do your produce shopping for you, straight from our fields! When you subscribe to our CSA for the season, our farm manager Heather curates and provides you with a basket of our freshest seasonal vegetables, every week from June to November.

It’s a win-win situation for farmer and consumer: the consumer gets the best local produce each week for less than a trip to the grocery store ($20-$30 per week, depending on basket size), and the farmer gets a guarantee of consistent revenue throughout the season to help pay for farm expenses.

For more information, or to sign up for the CSA, please visit our CSA webpage.
