share music and theatre with refugees in Bosnia

Hi, we're the Wind-Up Penguin Theatre Company!
We are actors and musicians from the UK's best conservatoires, who believe that the most vulnerable children in the world are those who need the Arts the most. We're a grassroots, volunteer-run cohort of young performers who share new music-theatre shows in refugee camps and vulnerable communities worldwide.
We help displaced children through war.
The UN reported in May that the number of displaced people in the world was at its highest. With the war in Ukraine, and ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, many children are forced to live through severe trauma. Children are deprived of their childhood, living through extremely rough moments.
We believe every child on this planet should access the crucial elements of a healthy childhood: laughter, stories, games, and a safe space to play and be creative.
This summer, we at Wind-Up Penguin are sharing a new music theatre performance with around 800 children in refugee camps and rural communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia is one of Europe's poorest nations, still healing from a recent genocide. Bosnia is the temporary home of many refugee communities from Ukraine and the Middle East.
Our company is run entirely by students and recent graduates. We fund and fundraise our costs ourselves, which is why we're asking for YOUR help now. Any donation, even the most modest, will help enormously towards covering the necessary costs for us to deliver our inspiring, life-affirming performances to children fleeing war. Thank you!
