Hi everyone,
For those of you who know Shar, you know that Daisy is probably the most important thing in her life (sorry Doe). Daisy Duke has been a part of Shar's life for over 14 years, since she was just a little puppy. She's been a best friend, an adventure buddy, and the best toy chaser ever.
But what you might not know is that Daisy has been undergoing costly treatments for the past month. Many veterinary visits, lab & blood tests, and overnight stays at the vet means Shar has spent over $11,000 trying to keep her pup happy and healthy.
Here's a little more on Daisy's health from Shar:
"1 month ago, I rushed Daisy to the emergency vet at 11pm where it was determined through an MRI she had 2 strokes: 1 on her left and 1 on her right. The strokes were in the the part of her brain that is used for balance and she was diagnosed with vestibular (which is like vertigo). She had two more overnights at the vet and when she was released to come home she was unable to walk, go to the bathroom, or get up/down on her own. The doctors ran more tests and determined that she had an infection that got into her blood, causing her to clot and have the strokes.
The next three weeks were very tough. She had to have a shot every 6 hours and take several medications to fight the infection and get her blood regulated. This also greatly impacted her desire to eat. She had to get her blood tested each week to see how she was responding to medication and it took some trial and error to figure out which meds worked best. And all the medication impacted her kidneys and liver so they also needed weekly testing to regulate.
But with help of a sling, responding to the medicine, home therapy exercises and TLC she has shown mass improvement. She has regained the ability to walk and stand on her on, go to bathroom on her own, and get up and down. Her eating improves each day. The blood is almost back to normal-and since the strokes were caused by the infection, she should make a strong recovery.
So she is now under the treatment of a specialist vet. She has to be on medicine for her blood the rest of her life as a precaution. She is also still currently taking medicine for her liver. She also still requires checkups every month or so for her blood , kidney, and liver to make sure that they stay within a healthy range.
My daisy duke is such a fighter. Her personality and love has pulled her through. She never gave up. Everyone knows how much this dog means to me and all the joy she has brought to my life. The bond and love her and I have has helped us make it through this difficult time. Her recovery is not only a desire on her part, but a miracle in itself. "

Shar has given everything she has trying to save Daisy's life. I've started this GoFundMe, with her permission, to help recoup some of the money spent, and to also help with ongoing care for Daisy.
If you're reading this far, I know it's because Shar has impacted your life somehow—either being a great friend, coach, teacher, teammate, or anything in between. Please consider making a donation to help her and Daisy out in their greatest time of need.
I'll try to post frequent updates with Shar's help to keep everyone involved. I'll even see if I can get a video of her with some happy tears thanking you all. If you'd like to get in touch with me or Shar directly, please feel free to do so.
Thank you,

I want her to see just how many people care about both her and Daisy!
