Shanon Hughes Needs Our Help for Medical Relief

Donation protected
Hey, my Facebook friends and family. I’m starting this GoFundMe for one of my longest and dearest friends. Many of you will know her, Shanon Hughes and she desperately needs our help.

My heart is heavy as I’m asking for help for my life-long dear friend as she is going through one of the most difficult times of her life.

First, I would like to ask for prayers for healing for Shanon. God is good but we also need to ask for some financial assistance to help keep her in her home.
Shanon has many things wrong with her spine including a congenital spine condition that she just found out about a few years ago when all of this started. She has degenerative disc disease, 2 herniated discs, so many bone spurs they can barely count them and many of these are smashing nerves which causes her so much pain and the inability to do basic housework and she has worked through all of this.

But what has finally gotten her down is spinal stenosis and it leaves her in constant pain and limits her ability to move at times, let alone work. She has had 6 procedures on her spine so far with very little relief, she had one on 06/23/2025 that was very intricate and invasive, and we have high hopes for some relief. But the worst part is that she is not a candidate for surgery due to the complexity of where the stenosis is occurring and along with her other health issues. She has fought so hard to stay working. She is terrified that she is in the situation. She has already utilized her retirement to assist when she has missed work and when she had a heart attack.
So, she is in the long process of waiting for disability to come through. She is still looking for part-time work but finding something she can do is difficult. But she isn’t giving up on that or her faith. If you know of any PT jobs, please message her privately.

Many of you know that she put her life on hold to care for mother. She purchased her childhood home from her mom to give her mom financial security and Shanon also took care of her mom until she passed. This was one of the hardest things I’ve ever seen while holding down a full-time job. Shanon is one of the strongest women I know. And now she finds herself in a similar situation except she doesn’t have anyone to help her.
In the meantime, she is struggling to keep up with basic living expenses-including mortgage payments, utilities, medical bills, and of course prescriptions and groceries. Without immediate support she is at risk of losing her home and/or being left without power or water while trying to heal and wait.
This is a kind, loving, strong person who has always been there for others. Right now, she needs us to be there for her. Any amount you can give will go directly toward helping her stay in her home, safe and supported as she navigates these overwhelming health conditions. She has worked since she was 15 starting at Dairy Queen. She has always loved her career because it was helping others, and she has been trying very hard to keep working but after losing her last job she realized it’s time to face reality and apply for disability. It was a very difficult decision for her, but it was the only option she had. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing with others who might be able to help. And keep those prayers coming please.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Kesha Williams, Michele Ledbetter Nall and all of Shanon’s closest friends.
