"I alone cannot change the world. But I cast a stone across the water to create many ripples." - Mother Theresa
Dear Friends and Family
In today's world, we are often consumed with daily tasks that prevent us from seeing the true beauty around us. We are so lucky to live where we do and blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family. While beauty is continually present in our daily lives, challenges often arise
This past November, my family and most notably my younger sister, was given a challenge is the form of a cancer diagnosis. This amazing wife and mother to three wonderful children was given the news that she has stage four colorectal cancer. At the young age of 43, she will be facing multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation in an attempt to shrink the tumor and eliminate the cancer
Shannon has three children, Zach, 18, a senior at Greenwood High School, Devin, 15, a freshman at Greenwood High School, and Olivia, 6, a first grader at Northeast Elementary in Greenwood, and a wonderful husband, Leo Rafail, who she married in 2014. Before this diagnosis, Shannon was working at Northeast Elementary as a teaching assistant, but since had to take time off for treatment. Leo has also had to rearrange his work schedule to accommodate the kids' activities and Shannon's treatment.
In an effort to "create many ripples" we are staring this Go Fund Me page to help offset the mounting medical bills associated with fighting cancer. Any help or assistance would be much appreciated by my family, as well as Shannon and her family.
Thank you so much
