Shannon Marvin Maisano is a 49-year-old mother of four who was first diagnosed in 2011 with stage 3 A, Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma which is an invasive form of breast cancer.  After undergoing chemo and radiation, in July of 2012 scans came back clear and she was cancer free. In February of 2017 it was discovered that the cancer had returned in the brain, left shoulder, pelvis, sternum, spine, liver,  lymp nodes in the auxiliary chain, lymp nodes under the arm and in the groin area. Shannon is currently receiving  medical treatment at M.D. Anderson and Ochsner Hospital. She has the support of her husband Billy and her children Lauren, Nicole, Kaye, and Will. Along with her extended family, friends, the congregations of St. Mathew's Catholic Church in River Ridge, First Baptist Church of Kenner, First Baptist Church of Covington and the support of Franco’s Athletic Club where she had worked. Shannon had to step away from Franco’s in Novemberof  2017.  With God’s providence’, prayers, love and support, she is trusting God and thankful to walk this journey day by day.

Through this Go Fund Me page, we hope to help the family pay some small portion of the continually-mounting medical bills. We thank for your continual prayers and any financial support you can provide.

SEPTEMBER 3, 2020    Hello friends! Okay, here we go with the latest update. This past Monday we received the results from the MRI of the brain and the CT scan of the body. There was new growth in the brain and more growth in the liver. The Dr had shared that our options for treatment are exhausted and suggested that we set up hospice. I have been blessed to have been treated since April 2017 by my physicians and nurses. I am thankful that God had His hand over them and guiding them in the process. The Lord has been carrying me and holding my suffering throughout the treatments and I know He has me here until He decides it is time for me to come home. Until then, I am reminded to trust and obey, glance at the problem and always gaze into the Lord’s eyes. He will lead me. I truly appreciate all the love and prayers that you have sent up to Heaven. It means the world to me and my family. We are trusting God, knowing that He is our Sovereign God and is in control. Praise you Lord Jesus.

As I was writing this, I heard a knock at the door. I went to check but no one was there. Then I thought of these verses from Luke 11:9-13

Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking
9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

Then I thought about these last three years, and all the prayers that God has answered. I am in awe and humbled to have witnessed these miracles. I was blessed to read my devotion in Streams in the Desert yesterday.

It started with the verse in Philippians 1:29 “For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.” How are we to endure this? We can endure this because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross over 2000 years ago. He suffered a criminals death for us, the suffering servant. The gift of grace was bestowed upon us.

2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.” I know that God is my strength. Trying to be strong on my own, would be to live in vain. I surrender all to Him.

Praying that God fills you all with a peace that surpasses all understanding.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
