Shannon's Surgery Recovery Fund

So as some of you may know already, my mom has been battling Crohn's Disease for the past few years which has attacked her whole digestive system, her joints and her eyes and other systems; although there have been a few medical scares, she's been putting up a good fight. Though due to the severity of her illness, it has left her on only able to work minimally part-time for quite some time.

After many rounds of IV medications, antibiotics and steroids that were ineffective or only partially effective, the doctors have elected to perform a (TMI ALERT) colectomy ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10th where they will remove her colon and connect her digestive processes to a colectomy bag. In addition to this, they are also doing a fistulectomy to repair some of the fistulas that have formed in her body because of the disease that causes her constant infection.  (/TMI ALERT) 

The recovery time for her surgeries is 6-8 weeks. While my mom has been battling, she has been working part-time in the local film industry doing security but she won't be able to work during her recovery and only receives $1000 in government aid per month. Anything you're willing to donate will ease the stress of her recovery feel the need to return to work before she's healed. Donations will go to food, bills and rent while she is recovering so anything will be helpful. 

I just want to say that my mom is awesome and she's kicked butt raising me as a single-parent and even though I'm 31 now, she never stops momming me.  I don't know what I would do without her so I'm very thankful that she's getting this surgery because I was getting very fearful over how long she'd last without it... I hope that she recovers quickly and is able to start working full-time and can start living her life again in 2018.  If you can't donate money and live in Langley, help walking her dog or groceries (home-made soft foods preferred) could be helpful as well.
