Amanda's Fight Against Leukemia

Those of you who know my mom, Shannon Aiello, may know that she has touched so many lives as a registered nurse for the last 24 years. She does so well in that profession because of her love to help people. She is one of the strongest, positive souls there is. She is also a private person, but has given me permission to share the struggle that our family is going through at this time.
Last week, my baby sister - Amanda - devastatingly suffered a relapse from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). After much thought, along with the strong recommendation from her doctors at Salah Foundation Children's Hospital, the decision was made for my mom and Amanda to go to St. Jude's Hospital in Tennessee for treatment. She has started chemotherapy, and will be preparing for a bone marrow transplant. The bone marrow transplant could take place as early as next month. Amanda first needs aggressive treatment to prepare her body for the procedure. This is a very intense lengthy process in which is anticipated for Amanda to be a patient for approximately 6 months.
My mother is a single parent that supports my two siblings, as well as my grandmother. She will be with Amanda for the duration of her stay at St. Jude's. Thankfully, patients of St. Jude's do not incur any out of pocket medical expenses. However, there are still a significant amount of bills that will be due in the next several months while my mom is not receiving income.
It is understandable that many people are currently going through financial struggles, and are unable to donate. Please, keeping Amanda in your prayers would mean so much.
