Shane's funeral and family expenses

Shane Peterson, a dear friend, brother, son, father, and husband unexpectedly passed away in his sleep, the morning after his 42nd birthday and first wedding anniversary with his wife, Heather McCallister Peterson. Shane left behind three children from his first wife and two stepchildren and a 10-month-old daughter. He was faced with a lot of adversity and challenges, even surviving heart and brain surgery. Yet he was continually positive, finding joy from his wife, children, extended family, and friends.
Shane had a special way to make anyone smile. He was the most genuine and caring man. He enriched the lives of all he loved and knew.
This tragedy left his family unprepared to pay for funeral expenses. In addition, Heather and Shane have been desperately struggling financially as Shane was unable to work because of his health. Heather has been working two jobs to pay for living expenses of their three kids.
Your donation will go directly for Shane's funeral expenses, anything leftover will go towards helping Heather support her three children. Funds are needed immediately. We would be extremely grateful for anything you would be willing to donate.
I am Jenny Starley, Shane's sister. He and I were closest in age (he was 2 years and 7 months older than me) and we have been the best of friends since I was born. I now live in Eagle Mountain, which is the city right next door to Saratoga Springs, where Shane lived and his wife, Heather, and their children still live.
The funds are going directly to cover Shane's funeral expenses that weren't paid for by family members. These expenses include; cemetery plot, opening/closing the grave, headstone, and pictures used for the funeral. Any funds left after paying the funeral expenses will go towards paying off some of Heather and Shane's household bills, starting with any outstanding bills first.
As the coordinator of this fundraiser, I will be withdrawing the funds and am keeping an itemized ledger with Heather to ensure the funds are being used for only purposes of helping her and her family.
