Shane Rosenberg Family Memorial

Our hearts are breaking at the loss of a dear father, husband, and friend – Shane Rosenberg. Shane dedicated his life to the service of others and, as a physical therapist at Utah Valley Hospital, helped countless people who suffered serious neurological injuries. As fate would sometimes have it, Shane was diagnosed with brain cancer and experienced significant neurological complications – a condition he worked to help many of his patients through. Unfortunately, on December 4th, Shane passed away. His coworkers and friends are starting this GoFundMe account to help support his wife, Tana, and children with medical, funeral and future expenses. While we cannot decrease the impact of losing a beloved father and spouse, we can provide some support we all know Shane would provide if he were able. Shane will leave behind a wonderful wife, five children, two son-in-laws and a darling, new baby granddaughter.
Shane was funny and had such fantastic wit. He tackled life head on. If there was a problem he would go to work to fix it. Although he was a physical therapist by training, he would often dress up as a carpenter for Halloween. He would put on a hard hat and a tool belt and call himself a “Bio-Mechanical Engineer”. He would spend his days fixing wheelchairs and fixing people.
I recall one Christmas Season I was planning our Family Christmas party. It was a tradition that Santa Claus himself would come pay a visit at our family party a couple of weeks before the Big Day. I had called the North Pole to see if Santa was still able to attend our family event. Unfortunately, Santa was behind that year in his preparations and was not going to be able to make it. I was getting a little nervous as time was getting short and I was relating this story to a co-worker when Shane overheard my conversation. “I’ll fill in!’” he volunteered. I told him I appreciated his offer but in the back of my mind I was thinking, “He can’t be serious.” I mean here it was, the Christmas Season on such a short notice and I was sure Shane had other responsibilities. Shane must have read my mind. “I’m serious!” he said. I looked in his eyes and knew there would be no deterring him. The time came for him to fill in for Santa. He entered our house all dressed up in a bright red suit, big black boots, with a full white beard along with jingle bells a jingling and a big “Ho, Ho, Ho!” I had to hold back the laughter and the tears at this amazing sight. He sat down in my living room and called all the children to sit around him as he told the story of the very first Christmas. He brought such a beautiful spirit with him. It was a spirit of friendship, service, love and our Savior Jesus Christ. That was Shane – a true disciple of Christ.
Each of us have felt that same care and concern from Shane. Each of us have been changed because of our association with him. We appreciate any contribution you make.
