Shandi and Chad Luellen

Near the end of May 2020, Shandi was admitted to the hospital in San Jose Costa Rica and now is in ICU critical condition with liver failure. 
This is such a shock to all the many people who love them around the world!  Shandi has always been a vibrant, fun, spiritual sister and it is impossible to believe she is in this condition.  Chad has been staying at an AirBnB near the hospital, trying to cope with this sudden change in their lives. 
We met Shandi and Chad when they unknowingly  became an answer to our prayers, leading to us moving to help the Samara English congregation in Northwestern Costa Rica.  They opened up their home for us to stay with them, although we were complete strangers to them.  This is just the kind of loving couple they are. 
Several years ago, they expanded their ministry to move to a small Spanish speaking congregation further north in Costa Rica. Always giving of themselves to the brothers, the ministry and to Jehovah, this couple is now in dire need of financial assistance.
Aside from the mounting hospital expenses, Chad has had food and AirBnB lodging costs in San Jose as well.  Another couple has also been staying there to help with the 24 hour watch over Shandi to keep her from pulling out the IV's unconsciously.  It is never financially easy to be a need greater, but no one can prepare for something this catastrophic to happen.
We have sadly lost our dear sister, wife, daughter, niece, aunt and friend.  Shandi passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 at just 36 years of age.  We long to welcome her back soon in paradise, but until then, she will be deeply missed.  Thank you for the overwhelming support during this very difficult and sad time.
