Shahane's Musical Dream (Paros)

An aspiring pianist, Shahane is a sixteen-year-old girl from Armenia who currently attends the Komitas State Music Conservatory in Yerevan, one of the most prestigious music schools of Armenia. She was previously a student of the Vanadzor Art School, a well-renowned Armenian music school directed towards younger students at the primary school age. Shahane has participated in major competitions, such as the International Competition of Pianists. She competed against piano students from Russia, Latvia, Georgia, Persia, and Kazakhstan, earning a diploma for her musical ability. Shahane also performed alongside the Chamber Orchestra of the Vanadzor City Hall at a concert hosted by the Vanadzor School.

Not only was Shahane accepted into the Komitas Conservatory, but she also received a scholarship for the four years she will be attending the school. She and her grandmother are living together in an apartment in Yerevan, however, they need around $200 a month for living expenses.

I've teamed up with the Paros Foundation to help raise the necessary funds Shahane will need to both attend conservatory and pay for housing expenses. For twenty years, the Paros Foundation has been devoted to serving the Armenian people, bringing about positive change to the lives of many Armenian citizens. They carry a desire to show the world the richness and uniqueness of the Armenian culture through their acts of service. This is how I knew Paros would be the perfect organization to work with in changing the life of a deserving young girl.

I would love for Shanane's dream of becoming a pianist to come true, especially since receiving education in Armenia can be expensive. As someone who also plays the piano, I want to see her succeed as a pianist and pursue her passion.
