Shafi's Fashion Show from a Refugee Squat

SUPPORT SHAFI TO DESIGN AN AWESOME FUTURE
Shafi is a remarkable person. A uniquely innovative fashion designer and dressmaker, an inspiring mentor, fearless human rights advocate, a confident refugee - just an all-around remarkable human being! After fleeing Afghanistan at an early age with her siblings and mother, she's lived her life in exile. Yet all the while Shafi has been honing her skills as a dressmaker, wherever she has landed.
Just under two years ago Shafi made a huge journey walking for weeks over the Iranian mountains, and through the treacherous waters of the Mediterranean, to reach Europe in October 2017.  Completing this enormously risky journey, Shafi and her family found themselves trapped in one of the worst refugee camps in the world, a former concentration camp called Moria on Greece's outlying island of Lesvos.  
After several months of demeaning treatment, fear and injustice, she began protesting and campaigning on behalf of the camp's inhabitants– including 26 days of hunger strike with her three sisters, while all of them still just teenagers! Finally, Shafi and her sisters were granted leave to start a more hopeful life in Athens.

Now in Athens, Shafi is working, mentoring others, and living at a refugee squat. She has helped produce two uplifting magazines and a book of haiku poetry. Now - finally - she is embarking on her life-long ambition to put on a world-class fashion show!
Shafi truly has the talent and ambition to make this a resounding success.  She has secured a great theatre space for the fashion show, and is working tirelessly on her designs, vision, marketing and ideas. She is studying hard looking at marketing and future sustainability as a businesswoman and designer.
As of yet she receives no state, NGO or charity funds, and her low-waged job as a bag maker goes towards supporting her family for their daily needs – in Greece's current difficult economic climate.  Your donations will buy supplies, equipment, mannequins, marketing and materials.
It will be the crucial step to becoming a successful fashion designer in her own right, and with your help, she will soon show the world her incredible talents ! ! !
