Shad Collie’s Celebration of Life

Shad Alan Collie, 51, of Valley Station, Kentucky, passed away suddenly Monday, July 27, 2020, with his family by his side. He was a man of God and very proud of his faith. Shad was a self-employed contractor, he also worked for the Louisville Water Company for 15 years. He was a graduate of Valley High School Class of 1987, where he was a dominating force wearing jersey #51, Shadrack! He also went on to attend Union College and Holmes Junior College, where he continued to play football. Shad was an avid sports fan and he loved the Louisville Cardinals. For many years he enjoyed coaching little league sports where he inspired kids to be their best. In his spare time he could be found soaking up the sun on the beach. He was always the life of the party, putting a smile on your face and love in your heart. Most importantly he loved living life to the fullest! His legacy will live through the lives of those that received his gift through his organ donation. God speed, beautiful soul.
Shad was met at the gates of heaven by his beautiful mother, Linda James Collie, maternal grandparents, Urban and Mary James, and paternal grandparents, Solon and Lorena Collie. He has left behind to cherish his memory, the love of his life, his adoring wife Kristina; proud father of Hanah, Dakota, Reegan (expectant mother of his first grandchild) Collie, and his step daughter Brianna Eatmon; siblings, his twin sister Cheri Murphy (Jeff), Aaron Collie (Erin), and Mark Dowden (Tammy Sutton), his loving father Glenn Collie, the mother of Shad’s children, Kelly Collie, several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and too many friends to count. Let’s not forget Shad’s crazy ass dogs, Buddy and Milo. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the University of Louisville Hospital, ICU 5 Core Medical team for their loving care.
Funeral Service will be held at 7pm on Monday, August 3, 2020, at Advantage Funeral Home Hardy Chapel, 10907 Dixie Hwy. Visitation will begin at 2pm. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the funeral home or Grace Crossing Church. Mask and social distancing will be required. You may leave memories and condolences for the Collie family at www.advantagefunerals.com.

Kristina and Shad had life insurance until May 31, 2020, when Kristina’s job terminated the policy due to Covid. We wanted to start a fundraiser to try to help Kristina during this difficult time.  We also wanted to give everyone one place to send donations if they would like to contribute to Shad’s Celebration of life and other expenses Kristina may encounter.
