Shackelford Hurricane Disaster Fund

My apologies for the delayed update. We have been at it working in the house everyday( well we took off for Phishers Birthday).
My sister Krista set up this site for us, but I wanted to update myself l. Obviously, we made it home thank to you guys and we would have not been able to secure housing with out y'all That is the honest truth!
We were not prepared for the destruction to our community.
Our house looks okay from the outside, the inside was very bad. The water line was 3.1 foot. We lost all of our furniture, appliances and some tools, linens, toys(basically everything. The mold had spread to our contents so they had to be removed.

Our boys are amazing, the jumped right into help pull our Sheetrock and insulation, Philip worked everyday until he returned to school. Our house has been gutted 4ft down and some entire walks had to be removed.

We stayed at a motel once approved for FEMA, then to a condo in North Padre. We are currently trying to find something small in PA. The boys return to their schools in 10/16 and I will return to work.
PJ is not working due to the displacement ,he would need to travel 48 miles one way. Having a older suburban this is not a good idea. We were in the process of getting him a new truck before this
We have received much help from our community. There are some many folks that have reached out to us, checked on us, even donations of furniture, food, drinks . I can honestly say I don't think I would ever live anywhere else. Our community strong and we are not afraid to get our hands dirty to get a job.

We will be closing this go fund me soon. I will keep open long enough so everyone can read the update( not sure how it all works anyway)
