Eleven years ago Brian Sewell and Siobhan Kelly were blessed with two beautiful twin boys - little brothers to Danielle and Brett. The boys were born prematurely at a 28 weeks, but soon grew healthy and life for the family was good.

Two years later they received some devastating news - one of their boys, Brae had an incurable degenerative illness, Ataxia Telangiectasia (AT). This is a disease that slowly gets worse with age, causing Brae loss of movement, affecting the audibility of his speech and eventually shortening his life.

How do you deal with something like this?

Brian and Siobhan dealt with it by pouring their hearts into helping the charity that supported them through this period of their lives (and continue to this day) and decided to help to raise awareness and funds for the AT Society charity.  Over he years they have raised over £20,000 for the A-T Society with their annual family fun days and other events over the years.

However, as predicted, as Brae gets older he is becoming more unsteady on his feet and is having to rely on his wheelchair more, as he gets tired a lot more easily these days.

The family live in a 3 bedroom house with all of the bedrooms located upstairs.  However, the time is approaching when it will no longer be safe for Brae to navigate safely up and down the stairs up to his bedroom and so the family are building an extension downstairs which will be Brae’s new bedroom.  This will give him the freedom to his own space in an accessible way within the family home.

The cost of equipment, fitting and wheelchair is c. £30,000.

We will be taking part in lots of events over this year with the sole aim of hitting this target.

Please help us to give Brae this wonderful life changing gift.  Help us give back to Brian and Siobhan a portion of the love they have raised for charity over the years.

Spread the word, or join us on the first of our events for 2020 - 12km sponsored walk (details of the walk are available on request if you would like to take part)
