Richard Garcia's Funeral Expense Fund
Donation protected
This fundraiser is for Richard Garcia, who is a loving Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He is always there for the ones he loves and loves spending time with family. He is a Father of 8, has 23 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
At the beginning of December he was diagnosed with severe covid/covid induced pneumonia. He originally was diagnosed with Sepsis and tested positive for Covid upon arrival at the hospital.
Within the first couple of days they were able to get rid of the Sepsis but that was only the beginning of his battle. He was given less than a 20% chance of survival. These were the odds as he is a lung cancer survivor and has smoked most of his life.
The first 2 1/2 weeks he was heavily sedated/drugged as well as put on multiple different high flow oxygen masks. This was meant to supplement oxygen to his system as his lungs were severely impacted by Covid.
He didn't recieve any nutrition for the first 2 weeks, which has caused significant weight loss. He is currently in his third week and has finally shown signs of improvement.
He was able to talk recently which was amazing after not hearing his voice for weeks.
This was even more relieving as the doctors urged/pushed us to put him into hospice from day one! He has a long road ahead with further recovery and rehabilitation following.

He recently passed away after his long fight due to organ failure, he couldn't continue to fight as it would lead to him suffering in his last days. He was removed from the ventilator and from all medication aside for comfortcare during his last moments. He has now made his way to heaven and will finally rest in peace. Thank you all for your support, thoughts and prayers.
