Help Save Carlos Benjamin's life

Carlos is seven years old and is currently in second grade living in Mexico, Carlos has HF disease (familial hypercholesterolemia). 
which is genetic and results in excess cholesterol being generated that has resulted in over two-inch deposits of cholesterol in his elbows and feet. Unless corrected by the time Carlos is a teenager he will likely die from a Heart Attack, Stroke or being unable to walk due to pain. 

Carlos is a very intelligent child who enjoys taking swimming lessons and also enjoys singing.  Carlos’s family earns just about the poverty line and his mother and father work hard to provide for him and his two siblings. He is scheduled to come to Los Angeles to Children's Hospital for an evaluation in july 2017. Without your help, they will not be able to afford the medical cost for his treatment.

   Carlos will need to be place on a dialysis machine on a regular basis that will take the excess cholesterol out of his blood stream. There are no such machines in Mexico.  In Los Angeles, there is such a machine at Cedars Sinai Hospital.  As a first step, there is a need to bring Carlos from Mexico to Los Angeles whereby some of our friends in the medical profession will help Carlos get recommended to Children's Hospital or Cedars Sinai Hospital for a diagnosis. Some of the other things the money will be used for are to enlist other person's or Doctors who can provide help, Identify Treatment Centers, Identify the Criteria for treatment of a non-citizen, determine who and what requirements are necessary to get permission for him to come to the US. and the arrange for the first Consultation and referrals for the Research Centers that have the equipment to take out the cholesterol in his blood.
   
With your help, we can bring Carlos to Los Angeles for an evaluation, diagnosis and began early treatment.   We estimate several trips from Mexico and the initial treatment will be a minimum $7,500. With your help. we will identify funding sources for long term treatments.

Without your help Carlos will remain in great pain and most likely will not survive his teenage years.
