A tool to optimize and maintain volunteer engagement
My name is Tanja Andersen, I am 32 years old and a volunteer HR consultant for NGOs, voluntary security expert and founder of the charity, www.serveglobalwildlife.org (SGW). SGW is a platform where you can find transparent and credible information about the world's leading NGOs, volunteer life, wildlife, climate and environment and tourism.
Our most important goal is to create a foundation by 2022, which will create financial stability for our NGO partner. Preserve large forest areas, establish conservation activities for animals and establish a training, which creates the future’s ambassadors, who actively acts as responsible tourists.
The concept is a report that I prepare after spending time with the NGO in question. The report ensures that the volunteer is taken care of optimally, both before, during and after staying with an NGO.
The report will help the NGO to reduce voluntary labor losses when volunteers return to their everyday lives, through idea development as well as a support program for volunteers.
The purpose is that more volunteers and sponsors choose the NGOs concerned with their time and money, and more people make the choice to volunteer and be trained to be ambassadors of the future.
In addition, the report helps NGOs support the UN's goals and gives credibility to their future volunteers and sponsors.
The picture illustrates our work and activity concept in Serve Global Wildlife, which we offer to the NGO that wish to create a partnership and want us to visit them.
I am to have as little expense as possible, to work abroad and to use my network when it gets to busy around me. I am currently selling my possessions in Denmark as "free" as possible. The donations will enable me to prepare the report for the various NGOs and thereby raise awareness of SGW.I'm missing the following before my trip, which starts in January:
- Camera: Canon Powershot SX70 HS
- Airplane, train and bus. Transport from and to the organizations
- Food and lodging: I get a reduction in the price of the NGOs I choose to travel to.
- Translation of texts for the website under, what, where, how, why and goals: DKK 15,000
- Translation of texts on social media: 10,000 DKK
- Platform maintenance: DKK 20,000
- New computer, (MINUS Mac computer)
- Travel backpack
SGW is a charity organization, and whoever works for SGW, will ”ALWAYS” work unremunerated. If at any point someone is hired or contracted for any paid assignment, they will be remunerated through www.wildlifefootprints.com. Why? Serve Global Wildlife; a Calling – not a Job.
Information about GoFundMe: The platform is free for organizers. Transaction fee is 2.9% plus $ 0.30 per donation. Which organizations should I visit?
The following organizations have agreed that I can serve as a volunteer HR consultant for them and prepare a report that will include: Who they are, volunteer life, animal rights, co-operation and my personal impression.
- The Fox Project (England)
- MARS Wildlife Rescue Center
- Turtle SOS The Gambia
- Endangered Primate Rescue Center
- Sea Turtle Oversight Protection
- The Aspinall Foundation
- Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Wildlife Conservation Trust (Africa)
- The Limbe Wildlife Center
- Felidae Conservation Fund
- Wildlife SOS
- Sanctuary: Pferdegnadenhof Edelweiss
- Sanctuary: Farm Animal Rescue
- Sanctuary: Rescue And Sanctuary for Threatened AnimalsWhat is my background knowledge?
I am a trained animal zoo specialist. Have various courses in continuing education, such as zoo keeper, have had pets all my life, traveled around the world and volunteered in nine different places. In addition, I have worked as a volunteer in Animal Protection in their animal ambulance. I have a basic and master coach education from Mindjuice as well as various courses in self-development.
Since October 2013, I have worked focused and dedicated on making SGW the strong platform it is today. I have done this through collaboration, knowledge sharing and networking with other volunteers and various NGOs and thus gained a greater knowledge and experience in charity and volunteerism. What does the support mean to me?
That will mean I can go all-in and dedicate my full workforce to NGOs working on global warming, the eradication of endangered species and deforestation in the Amazon. The money left over after the trip is used to create a fund. The fund will then be able to support the NGOs that use and live up to the report.
I would be deeply grateful if you would support SGW's work to serve the animals and fight to keep the wild animals wild. As a thank you for your symbolic amount, I will keep you updated along the way so you can keep up to date. I want to make sure your name is included on the web page and mentioned in the videos I will post along the way. In addition, I made a personal video after the trip, as a thank you for your warm, warm support.
SGW's work is also your merit, because I can't create the "report" without you. Thus, we are both front figures for SGW. Let's stand together in this movement to serve the animals.
Remember to write your mail after the donation. Thanks.
All the best, Tanja Andersen

"I serve the animals, the wild animals are my employer and I will always strive to do the best for them in my work. I want some time to say yes to something that is in any way detrimental to their natural behavior. I will at all times refuse to say yes to anything that could in any way harm their natural behavior".
