Services for Kimi Craig

As most know, my mom, Kimi, has been battling a really aggressive form of Leukemia for the last two years. In August she was placed in Hospice Care. Now, while that seems like a good amount of time to plan for end of life services, my parents have led more of a “Carpe Diem” philosophy and planning is not a part of their makeup. While, I overcompensate for their eclectic lifestyle, I have fallen short with preparing for her last days as well. I preferred to spend most of my time, energy, and financial means on making sure she was as happy and comfortable as I possibly could while she is still here. Unfortunately friends, it is now time to shift focus. As of today, my mom is “transitioning” from life to death. I would like to carry out her end of life wishes and allow her to rest easy being surrounded by those who love her. I have come to terms with this and will be relieved to no longer see her suffering. I look forward to seeing her again soon, and for the first time ever, without pain or heartache. She has fought for so long that I want her to be able rest. Any assistance will help with her final arrangements and bringing her family and friends together for a celebration of her life. I plan to place her obituary in her favorite paper, “The Creative Loafing” and reserve Euclid Avenue Yacht Club in Little 5 points for loved ones to come together and share their fondest moments of our witty, artsy, beautiful, and truly unique, Kimi. Thank you.
