Service Dog Recovery Fund

Donation protected
My name is Curtis and I am raising money to help with veterinary costs for my clinics service dog, Lex. Lex is a 13 year old lab who has been helping patients recover from strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries and other life challenges. This dog is loved by everyone who comes into the clinic. On Sept 10th Lex collapsed in the office while making the rounds to say good morning to everyone. He was taken to his Vet and it turned out he had a tumor on his spleen causing him to have internal bleeding. Later than day Lex had surgery to remove the spleen and any other masses. A week later the biopsy of the spleen came back and it turns out our beloved therapy dog has cancer.  The vet decided the best treatment since he was already was recovering from surgery is to treat using medicines that help reduce the severity any future internal episodes.  Katie, Lex’s handler and “Mom” is covering these expenses but I am setting up this fund to raise money to help her out since this dog is such a cherished part of our therapy team.

If you feel it in your heart to assist we greatly appreciate it. Lex is the calm force that helps us therapists provide the highest level care that we can. There are countless patients, coworkers, and social network admirers who love this dog, and I am hoping we all can help Katie cover his vet expenses.
