Service Trip to Fiber Arts Center

On June 7, Wendy Youmans, Janet Bardwell and Ray Geiger will be traveling to northern India on a volunteer service trip to the Pangong Craft Center. This is a fiber arts center where semi-nomadic cashmere goat herders are learning to spin, knit and weave the fiber harvested from their goats.
When the center officially opened its doors in 2015, the goal was to not only provide ongoing employment for the village women, but to also provide a facility where they could bring their children to play in a warm and safe environment.

Wendy will be assisting with teaching fiber arts skills, and Ray will be assisting with the still ongoing construction at the growing center. Janet will be doing a little bit of both.
The funds will be used to purchase needed materials, gifts for local villagers, and to help defray the significant travel costs of the volunteers.
