Service Trip in Peru - March 2018

Greetings Friends and Family!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas season and a happy beginning to the new year! I am reaching out to you because I have been asked to lead a group of Christendom College students on a service trip to Peru this March, and I need your support!
My husband Antoine and I will be embarking on this service trip with about 30 Christendom students. We will be working with a group that is already established in Peru that needs volunteers to carry out the different projects they plan for servicing the poor people of Peru.
This service trip is dedicated to helping the extremely impoverished people of Paloma Alta - a shanty town in the mountains above Lima where 20% of Peru’s poor people live. We are seeking to improve the quality of life for these people by building stone stairs into the side of the mountain so they can move more easily from the shanty town down into the city. Such a simple system that we may take for granted could go a long way for this community.
Our group will be in Paloma Alta from March 2-11, and for each of us going it costs $1,500 per person. This includes the airfare, meals, lodging, transportation, and the tools that we will be using for the project. Antoine and I together are hoping to reach $3,000 so we can lead these students on this mission and also serve as translators in order to communicate with the locals we are serving.
There are several ways you can help us on this service trip. We are asking for your thoughts and prayers, good vibes and well wishes, but also for your financial assistance. If you are able to send anything to help us get to Peru, it would go a long way for the people that we are going to help.
If you would like to send a check, please make it out to Christendom College, but please put my name on the bottom of the check. You can also venmo me if that is easier (please DM me for my handle) or if I am lucky to see you in person, then that works too!
