Service Project The ARC of WaltonCO

Tax deductible

TuesdayTogether of the Emerald Coast (a group of local creatives that are part of the national Rising Tide Society)
participated in a service project for “Philanthropy Month” last November to benefit The ARC of Walton County in Defuniak Springs.

ARC provides services and advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across all diagnoses that
actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes. *See more about what ARC offers, below!

The training center is used daily for many activities that benefit the disabled and badly needed a new kitchen and a
handicap bathroom.

*ARC services to their clients include job training (as well as income-earning jobs including candle-making) and they also
have a fully-functioning a garden and art center that provide job and learning opportunities.  A variety of opportunities that enable their clients to have a sense of personal satisfaction and productivity - as well as an outlet for creativity, learning
and fun activities. These activities include dances, lunch in the park, boat rides, crafts, and they also offer classes in cooking, math, reading, safety, hygiene.

To top it all off, these wonderful people are working in small groups out in the community.  All activities are developed to
help ARC clients reach their personal goals – whether the goal is learning to write their name or simply learning to get
along with others.

If you know of a local youth group or anyone that needs volunteer hours, please let them know about this wonderful
organization that badly needs some amazing volunteers!  You can donate money and/or your time!  Please contact us via
this page with any questions or to let us know how you can help!

Current update

Our TuesdayTogether volunteers worked over 4 volunteer days last Fall/Winter, which ARC was incredibly
thankful for.  However, this project was not able to be fully finished and still has many needs! We have come so far and
would
love to continue with your support.

There are still many things to be done and finished. Our greatest need is financially donations to be used to contract
professionals that can help beyond our volunteers are capable, to work on serious issues like electric and plumbing.

This center needs lots of TLC and we will continue to have volunteer days for anyone interested.  ARC and their clients are SO appreciative of ANYTHING that is donated.  Whatever donation amount you can spare makes a HUGE difference to them!  As you will see in the video.... we love them
SO much and believe they deserve the best environment to thrive in!

Let's make this a HAPPY and safe place for these individuals with disabilities to go everyday!

Thank-u so much,
Monica O'Flaherty
