Baby Avery Isabelle Martinez was born to Servando Martinez and Megan Kirkpatrick on October 4th. Avery’s arrival was an anxious journey, she has been loved greatly by family, and friends of family even before she was born. However, early on we all knew it was going to be a difficult journey for baby Avery.
At 5 months of pregnancy, Doctors diagnosed Avery with Down Syndrome, among other cardiovascular health issues.
Despite all tribulations that mounted against young Avery, she continued to grow and fight her battles. When she was born, she was full of life, with a smile that could light up the room, it was evident that Avery was little warrior.
At only 12 days old, Avery was already undergoing her second surgery; this time being open heart surgery. Friends and family gathered to pray for Avery, and through the Grace of God, Avery’s surgery was successful and continues to recover at Valley Children's Hospital.
Young Avery still has a long journey ahead, and will constantly face hardships along her way, with many more surgeries required.
With that being said, as young parents, raising a child is difficult enough. But the medical attention Avery requires makes it much more challenging, and financially overwhelming.
At this time, we’d like to ask if you could help us give support to these new parents, Megan Kirkpatrick and Servando Martinez as an important member of the Edub Nation, and Baby Avery as the new member of the Edub Nation Family.
