Girls Empowerment and Conservation through Grumeti

The Grumeti Fund Girls Run is a purpose driven experience aimed at raising funds for girls and women in rural Tanzania. Contributions will assist in funding scholarships for local girls in secondary school, vocational studies and university, life skills, and empowerment, in return, restoring respect and dignity to African females. I will be running 63 km (40 miles) across the beautiful Serengeti over a three day span. Your generous donations mean THE WORLD to me as I have found a deep love for this continent and a yearning to contribute to its prosperity.

Why shouldn't you go to Africa?
"You should never go to Africa because it's a continent with 54 countries, all different. It will mess with your world view , because once you visit and see the incredible size and diversity of this continent it will destroy the pigeonholes and stereotypes that help make you snap judgements and generalizations of people and places.
You should never go to Africa because it's not safe. Africa might steal your heart. You might be changed forever. You might never want to return home. You might get kidnapped in Africa. It will capture you and never let you go.
You should never go to Africa because Africa is not for everyone. Africa is for those who love beauty and contrast and wildlife and people and space. People will enjoy snow capped mountains, bustling cities, and colorful markets and sun kissed beaches. And scorching deserts and wild jungles and endless savannas.
Africa grows on you, it grows into you, it grows you."
