Phina's Communication Device Fund

Born in 2010 with cerebral palsy, Seraphina has beaten the odds over and over again with her determination and strength, and with the huge help of our awesome support system of family, friends, teachers and therapists.

Imagine if you were not able to communicate effectively with those around you. If you had so much to say but no one took the time to listen and understand. Imagine if people assumed you were not intelligent just because they could not understand what you were saying. Imagine the frustration you would feel. Seraphina is such a bright 5 year old. In modified testing, she has placed in the 4th grade level in certain areas but because she is unable to speak in a way that everyone understands, people make a lot of assumptions about her, they don't listen, and she gets frustrated and angry. 

We are raising money to buy Seraphina a piece of communication equipment that uses her eyes instead of her hands/fingers to communicate with others, as well as giving her the ability to use a PC or tablet apps. She currently uses a communication device that requires her to press buttons to put together sentences and phrases however, even this causes her to exert a lot of energy and tires and frustrates her. The possibilities with this new equipment are endless - from face timing family, to sending emails, cruising the web, and doing homework. This device will change Phina's life!
