My name is Sequoyah aka Coy and I am from Austin, TX.
As a black woman running a business alone, I've never had the courage to ask for money in order to invest in my dreams as an artist.
I am starting to realize that it's okay to ask for help and believe in myself even more. In the last 2 days my orders have gone from 0 orders to 140 orders. The sudden interest in my products has made me realize that people are actually willing to come together and support me.
I started The Coy Collection two years ago when I lost my job. Since then I have been growing my business out of my own pockets. I have had a "wishlist" of things that I haven't been able to afford thus far.
They are:
- 20 molds from MudShark so I can replicate some of my top selling designs
-A part-time studio assistant who will help me spend more time thinking big picture
-A printer and Dymo label maker in order to make shipping easier and faster
-Shelving and supplies for higher volume production
