September Solidarity Fund for KEERFA

United Against Racism and Fascism-NYC announces another solidarity fundraiser for our friends in Greece: KEERFA, the Movement United Against Racism and the Fascist Threat. KEERFA has scored huge victories against the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party, which was finally kicked out of Parliament, put on trial for their violent crimes, and has splintered. But there is no guarantee that the court will convict them; the trial date is set for October 7th. So KEERFA is working to apply pressure both within Greece and internationally, and calling a strike on the ruling date to get masses of people to rally outside the courthouse in Athens. They also work closely with refugees. The overcrowded and unsafe Moria refugee camp on Lesvos recently burned to the ground, leaving thousands of refugees homeless. KEERFA coordinators travel frequently to Lesvos to organize with refugees, and they work together against fascist attacks. KEERFA urgently needs funds to support these efforts. We want to raise $1000 by the end of this week, September 26. Please help us by donating $5, $10, $20, or what you can afford. We will then send the entire amount directly to KEERFA.
