September Medical Bills

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Mitchell...known to some of you out there as MirvansMusings. And I need help...

September was rough, to say the least. As some out there already know, I have had multiple visits to the emergency room, had multiple tests run and more to go, and my daughter had to have multiple tests which will culminate in her having her gallbladder removed toward the end of October. And all of this happened during a month in which we did not have any insurance, due to factors outside of our control with my partner’s employment. I was lucky enough to have a bit of money saved back for the tests I had planned, but unfortunately it wasn’t nearly enough, and I had to make some hard choices on what bills I could get by without paying.

The good news is we have insurance now: my new insurance kicked in today. The bad news is that I can’t backdate any of those claims, tests, ER visits, or anything like that. And the medical bills for the last month keep piling in. And to make matters worse, I can’t do a whole lot of side work, because I wound up breaking my foot the night of the 29th.

As it stands, for September alone I’m in about $4,000 of medical debt. That’s not counting whatever it’s going to take for my daughter’s surgery later in October or the two additional tests that my doctor wants to run with everything that’s been going on with me. That’s two MRIs, an Ultrasound, two ER Visits, a pair of crutches, a splint, requisite follow up appointments, and a partridge in a pear tree. In October, if I have to meet the deductible before the insurance covers her surgery, that’s another $1,000 minimum. Then there’s the stress test and sleep study my doctor wants to run for me, let’s say another $1,000 there, because all I have are average numbers, no estimate yet.
Everything raised in this GoFundMe will be put toward covering the medical bills of September and making sure we’re good in October. I will also be taking a small part of it to go toward a better mobility solution for me to use until my foot is healed, so I can work as much as possible. After this whole ordeal is over and my daughter has recovered from her surgery, if there is anything left from this GoFundMe, I will pay that forward.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Whether you shared the link, donated, or even just watched this little clip, you have no idea just how much I appreciate you.
