Hello friends, family, and friends of friends,
As some of you may know we have started the process of adoption. For some of you this may come as a surprise. We have had this desire in our hearts for many years, and we believe that the Lord's timing is always perfect. Adoption was part of His plan for our family even before it was ever revealed to us.
Why adoption you might ask? Difficult pregnancies and the emotional stress that goes along with it have caused us not to be able to have any more children physically, but we know our hearts are missing someone. We want to adopt to give a child a new chance at life. A chance to grow into a son or daughter of the Creator of the universe! A chance to know that they are loved and they are wanted. Our hearts break for the unwanted babies in this country. We whole-heartedly believe that this is God's will for us and our family is not yet complete.
We are doing a private, domestic adoption through a Christian adoption agency. There are so many costs involved that honestly, we didn’t fully comprehend until we met with the adoption agency. There are lawyers’ fees for both us and the biological mother. There are state and federal expenses. There are travel costs to meet the birth mother initially and several times through the pregnancy. We are also responsible to pay the birth mother's living expenses for 6 months. Remember, they are often talked out of abortion to do this, and quite often can't afford to do it alone. Then there are all the advertising costs for the agencies and organizations that reach out to pregnant woman considering abortion. Aside from all that there are miscellaneous costs for several small things that most people wouldn’t even think about. All that being said none of that matters when we think about the fact that we have the honor and privilege to change for the better the life of one of God's precious children.
We have already paid for the home study and initial lawyer fee. We believe that this is a calling from God for our family. We are trusting Him and living by faith knowing that He will provide us with the funds we need. Please be praying for us as we go on this amazing journey!
