We are absolutely thrilled to share some wonderful news with you regarding a brand-new development here at Bonus Pastor. Work has officially begun on creating a dedicated Sensory Garden—an inclusive, vibrant outdoor space designed specifically to stimulate the five senses and offer our pupils a unique environment to learn, grow, and thrive. The garden we would love to create is pictured above.
In a busy school environment, outdoor spaces like this are vital. A sensory garden provides a safe, calming sanctuary that supports emotional regulation and aids students with sensory processing needs.
Beyond its therapeutic benefits, the garden will also serve as a living classroom, encouraging hands-on, nature-based learning and transforming our curriculum into a truly engaging, interactive experience for all pupils.
We have carefully designed the garden to ensure it offers a rich experience across four senses:
- Sight: Vibrant blooms, contrasting colours, varying plant heights, and dynamic light filters.
- Sound: The soothing rustle of ornamental grasses, gentle wind chimes, and a trickling water feature.
- Smell: Aromatic herbs such as mint and rosemary, fragrant flowers like lavender and jasmine.
- Touch: A variety of textures to explore.
Whether big or small, every single contribution will directly enrich our pupils' daily school experience and bring this exciting vision to life.
