Class Of 2018 Wrestling Senior Gift

The Class of 2018 wants to give back to the team that has done so much for us. We are asking for your donation in order to purchase a new mat. This mat will be our parting gift to the team. You see, we have 2 mats downstairs that we practice on everyday, both of these mats happen to be over 20 years old, with multiple rips with just some conveniently placed duck-tape holding them together. One of the biggest takeaways of the Concord Wrestling Program is giving back, whether it is to the community or to a program that has developed us into who we are today. This is why we wish to buy a new mat for the team, something that will surely be used for decades to come.

The Wrestling Team at Concord High School is like being a part of a huge family, reffered to as the Brotherhood. Being amongst the Brotherhood has taught us to be better men, it has taught us to never give up, and it has taught us more life lessons than anybody could ever imagine. The fundamental idea of the Brotherhood is a huge part of the Crimson Tide Wrestling Program. Once you join the team, you are a part of a family, a comradary, and a young group of men that thrive on the dedication and commitment that wrestling takes.
The CHS Wrestling Brotherhood is so much more than a sports team. For example, we have several athletes on the team that began the year speaking no English at all, but through the Wrestling Team, they have easily been able to meet new people, and create bonds with other teammates that never would have been possible. The Concord High School Wrestling team provides a home for over 50 individuals from all different backgrounds and ways of life.
The Wrestling Team at Concord High School is also one of the most successful sports teams at the school. For over the past decade, the team has placed in the top 3 at the Division 1 State Championships every year. Not only does having a competitive team represent Concord High in a good way, but it helps grow the entire sport of Wrestling.
We are sure that a new mat will help out the team tremendously and continue to allow our future brothers to learn the same lessons we did through the sport of wrestling. That’s the thing about the CHS Wrestling Brotherhood, once you’re a part of it, you're a part of it for life.
