These are my parents-Billy and Rose
-and they are in dire need of a new bathroom, kitchen, and roof. I am their fulltime caregiver and funds are scarce when you can only work sporadically. Their retirement barely covers their bills. The bathroom needs to be converted to a walk-in shower with safety rails, etc. The roof...well we all know what can happen when it rains when the roof has been patched and not full repaired. I don't want the time they have left to be inundated with disaster! I have a contractor waiting in the wings to do the work we need. He has agreed to get all the materials from the Habitat ReStore to save money and he has discounted the labor cost. We will also be doing "Sweat Equity" which, is myself and whoever I can recruit to help with the work. We just need the funds. They can't get a reverse mortgage because the of the repairs that need to be done. Go figure! Here is the current bathroom...
It is small and they can't step over the top of the tub any longer.
Here is what we need(exactly like this bathroom ):
The kitchen needs a new floor. Nails are coming up because the vinyl tile came up years ago (put in by a sheisty contractor) and both parents are on blood thinners which could prove very dangerous if they step on one. Here i what we have and I just want it repaired. Nothing fancy. Just a new countertop, floors and cabinet refacing:
Other family members had promised to do these repairs and due to life circumstances were unable to fulfill their promise. Billy has heart issues and Rose has Alzheimers and it is best to keep her in a familiar environment. This is why we desperately need the assistance. I am trying to fulfill my promise to God to honor my Father and Mother and take care of them the way they took care of me. With your help I can accomplish this endeavor. I appreciate everyone looking at my campaign and if you want to volunteer with the work or funds or both, please do! We can use all the help we can muster! God Bless!
