Middletown residence past and present I need your help! Budget cuts at the first meal delivery program in the state are causing some major cutbacks.
For 40 years, Community Renewel Team of Middletown, who gets their funds from Agency on Aging, had enough money to serve 77,000 meals a year. CRT said their grant was slashed by more than $100,000 and can now only serve 51,000 meals. They came up with a plan to stretch the program all year long. Starting on Wednesday (2/1/17), they'll cut back to serving just three days a week instead of five and they’ll have to cut the number of people they serve in half!!! Only 16 seniors a day will be able to recieve a meal and seniors are running to sign up on the list. If they are unable to sign up as 1 of the 16...they do not get to eat.
For some seniors this is their only meal a day.
These seniors are our Veterans, Teachers, Grandparents and Neighbors. The stories they have to tell are truely amazing. They have worked hard for us and now it is time for us to pay our respect and work hard for them. NO senior deserves to go hungry in our community. Please help donate to this page.
