I am a MK-TCK with a deep desire to go back and visit my high school overseas. I was blessed to have been able to spend my senior year there and it was without a doubt one of the best years of my life. I grew to love my class and the junior class under mine. Even before I left, I knew that I would want to come back and visit. There are many fellow classmates and mentors that I desire to strengthen my relationship with and encourage.
A tragedy occurred in the middle of March, a dear friend - and my class president from the school - was in a terrible accident that took his life. This took a huge toll on me both emotionally and spiritually. Even now as I struggle to trust the Lord in my grief, I know there are many back at my school who struggle as I do. People I love as my own soul. More than anything I wish to be there physically to comfort, strengthen, and encourage them - and to be encouraged as well.
More than this, there is another class of seniors that I love well who are going to be taking the thrilling and terrifying step into university life that I took this time last year. I would deeply desire to be there to rejoice and encourage them in this momentous time in their lives.
Over this past year, that desire has grown and now that the summer has arrived and I know the Lord has set this small mission trip on my heart for a reason.
My trip will Lord-willing, be from the 29th of May to the 12th of June: two weeks. the cost for this trip is about $2100. I don’t ask for anything specific, but anything you can give towards this summer trip, from $10 to $100, I would deeply appreciate. Give as the Spirit leads. Anything you can donate towards this amount will go to paying for my transportation across the Atlantic ocean as well as miscellaneous costs for incidentals. If at all possible, I would like to be funded by the end of May.
Because of the intensity of my major, this may be the only free summer I have to go back for a long while. If the Lord wills. I’d like to be able to go home - just this once.
