Vicky's Volunteer Trip to Guatemala

Hi everyone!

My name is Vicky Avramopoulos, and I am a 23 year old student who has decided to embark on a new journey in Guatemala, working in an Orphanage for three months. I am going with a close friend, and we leave September 16th, which is just around the corner!

I had the choice to go back to University or take a break and work full time. But volunteering abroad had been on the back of my mind for over a year, and I couldn't let go of the fact that I really wanted to do this. I feel like I am at a point in my life right now where I'm starting to re-evaluate certain decisions and choices that I've made, and I'm ready for some change!

I've always been the kind of person who's wanted to help make a difference in the world, no matter how big or small that difference is. Even if it means helping just one person. So when I found out about Volunteer HQ and the opportunity to volunteer at an orphanage abroad, I didn't even think twice about applying. They are an amazing and affordable organization.

I have never been more excited for something before! I get to experience a new way of life in a different country, learn a new language, while helping out a community, and working with kids.

Thanks for taking the time to read about what I'm doing, I'll definitely be updating as much as I can, and my friend and I will be setting up a blog while we're there so you all can keep up with what we are doing!
