Send Sophie Soaring

I am a 20 year old aspiring Australian actor who is originally from Adelaide but is currently living in Sydney. I was studying acting full-time at the school of my dreams up until July this year when they asked me to defer for 18 months in order to gain 'life experience' because they thought I was still too young (19 at the time).

While I didn't agree with their decision, I am going to live by the "everything happens for a reason" way of life and take this new challenge head-on! To gain this 'life experience' and develop myself further as a person and as a professional, I wish to travel for 6 months next year throughout Europe - with my main goal being to do a four week, full-time acting course at MetFilm School based in Ealing studios in London. The course converts to being $2720 AUD which is my main concern because with my current savings (I am working 40  hours per week), I will either be able to cover the course and barely anything else, or everything else and not the course - i really cant see how I will manage it all if I rely purely on my soul efforts to get me there.

I have spent many hours trying to budget this trip and I believe I will need a minimum of $5,000 to live a reasonably comfortable life while travelling - factoring in I will be couch surfing, Au pairing and living as cheaply as possible. 

To me this course is everything! - it is a life changing experience and I hope to return to Australia with skills and knowledge that will be invaluable to me as an artist - and hopefully to the Australian film industry.

My future goals are to become a successful Australia actor and hopefully one day be an inspiration to those younger than me - in the same way that the current Australian actors have inspired me to reach towards my goals - regardless of how impossible they seem.

This trip is NOT about drinking away my time in a bar or club, I will not be staying in an fancy hotels or doing many expensive tours - I will be backpacking, couch surfing and Au Pairing my way around Europe.

I am purely aiming to grow as a person, learn to love living, to laugh, cry, sweat and get lost in places unknown - to become a better human and entertainer.

If anyone can help me to reach my goals, I would be forever thankful.
