About Me
My name is Shannon and I am 24 years old, originally from Southern California. I've had a strong passion for helping where I am needed and experiencing different coultures, and parts of the world for a long time. Over 2014 I worked hard and pursued how to make that a reality. I've always been drawn to Europe, and most especially, the United Kingdom. I also love being useful to others. So, I contacted many organizations and found myself very excited to pursue YWAM.
YWAM stands for "Youth With A Mission." They have locations all over the world, and 18 alone in the United Kingdom. They each have there own individual goal and purpose. I applied to be part of the team in Derby back in Jan 2014 and was thrilled that I got in!
I am currently in Derby as a part of YWAM's Discipleship Training School. I am so blessed to not only have one of my biggest dreams come true and change my life for the better, but also to have the opportunity to learn, grow, go where I am needed, and put others in this world first.
About YWAM Derby
"YWAM (Youth With a Mission) Derby is situated within a multicultural community, a short walk to the city centre. We are called to urban mission, an 'urban plant' that will be multiplied into the cities of UK & Europe. We partner with local church & pioneer new ministries, we train and equip those called to urban work and we plant new teams. I am currently involved with a local homeless ministry, and we (my team and I) also are a part of youth clubs and we partner with other organisations in England. We do all this to carry God's heart and share

When?
YWAM is a nine month long program that I started in Sept 2014 and will be graduating in Summer 2015.
Why $3,000.00
It is unpaid volunteer work that you have to fund yourself. YWAM takes care of room and board, but plane tickets, train fares, travel expenses, daily essentials, like shampoo, etc., is out of your own pocket for your entire stay. Being that the program is nine months long, I've been working and saving as much as i can, but unfortunately I'm still short this amount. I still need money for food while on Outreach for three months, travel expenses (trains, taxis, hygene) and money for my plane ticket home once my time here concludes.
How to Support
No amount is too small! Every bit helps, even donating as little as a $1 will aid me closer to my goal.
I know that money can be tight and some of your will be unable to give but spreading the word through Facebook and emails is just as helpful!
