Kyla's Journey to Law School
Donation protected
I have accepted admission to the University of La Verne College of Law and I will be starting this August. I started this go-fund-me because the expected cost of attendance is over $55,000 and my financial aid award was only for $20,500. Please read a little bit about my story and if you can, pitch in (or share my page on your Facebook) to help make my dreams come true! I currently work full time at a personal injury law firm and on the weekends I volunteer as a rescue partner at the Animal Shelter in Long Beach. During the week, I participate in activism with the Animal Alliance Network and devote my time to promoting the ethical treatment of animals. While the activism I do is very important, it is time to start advocating for stronger animal protection laws in a more tangible way. It is my goal to attend law school and pursue a career with the Animal Legal Defense Fund as an Attorney. The total cost of books/supplies, personal items, room and board, transportation and finally, tuition and fees come to an astounding $55,900 per year. I applied for financial aid and am estimated to be eligible for a Direct Stafford Loan of $20,500. With all of that being said, I have created this campaign to reach out to my family, friends, mentors and anyone else to ask for ANY financial support that you might be able to provide me. The one promise that I can make to everyone, whether you donate or not, is that I will pay it forward. I will not only continue to fight for legal protection to the underrepresented, but I hope to one day support other young men and women in such a way that they too can be closer to achieving their dreams.
