Volunteer Internship -Ecuador

Hi! I'm going to back to Cuenca, Ecuador this summer! I need YOUR help!



I went to Ecuador last summer, and I'm not sure what I expected, but I did not expect it to change me the way it did. I didn't expect to be come suddenly enchanted with the language of Spanish. I didn't expect to receive such a strong confirmation of what I always kind of knew I wanted to do with my life. 

My trip to Ecuador really changed me. It planted some seeds and watered some others in my life. I would not be who I am today, only 6 months later, if I had not gone. 

Recently I have been blessed with so many amazing opportunities, and consequently have had to make some difficult decisions, as well as step out in faith. I have been offered the opportunity of travelling back to Cuenca, Ecuador for a creative volunteer internship. For almost 2 months, I will serve the Unsión television station and Centro Christiano Church, run by missionaries Bill and Connie McDonald. Unsión has developed several ways to reach out to the community of Cuenca, including not only the television station but a medical clinic, a café, and Latin American Childcare services. I will be involved in growing and improving these outreaches while I hone my leadership and creative skills.

 I know that I can't even attempt to predict the impact this internship will make on my life. I will definitely make large improvements in my Spanish-speaking skills, which I am both terrified and extremely excited about. I know it be a continuation of the guiding forces in my life that shape me and help me to understand what my future is to become.

 Deciding to be a part of this was not easy. This creative internship in Ecuador costs about $3,000. I believe that I am supposed to go, so I am stepping out in faith. I'm simply asking that you give what you think you should. If that is only words of encouragement, I'll take them. Prayers are even better! But if you feel you have any amount at all that you'd like to contribute, I would be really, really grateful.
