Medical Internship Trip to Peru

Hello, my name is Joselyn Miller and I will be a participant in the December 2015 Peru trip with the organization: TPAIDA (Tropical Pathway and Infectious Disease Association). This trip is by no means a vacation for it is a medical internship that affects the lives of many in the villages of Peru. The TPAIDA program gives students an in-depth experience learning about the medical field, shadowing physicians, and diagnosis and treatment in a third world country.
A little about me: I attend Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama. I am a Junior Biology Pre-Med Major, and Chemistry Minor with a 4.0 GPA. I aspire to become a Trauma Surgeon and am on track to do so.
I will be getting the opportunity of a lifetime to not only serve others but learn to my maximum capacity. Unfortunately, without financial support, I will not be able to go. All donations that I receive will be used for: the cost of the program, price of shots needed to travel outside the country, the price of a passport, expenses for the program materials such as apparel and medical supplies needed, and the travel arrangements. Without having many medical facilities, personnel, and equipment, I will get a firsthand experience to what being a doctor and serving others truly encompasses. Sponsoring me is equivalent to supporting my aspirations.
