Send Jesse to Cambodia

Hey friends!

So I'm sure you're wondering what this is all about... I am raising money to travel to Cambodia this coming April with "Church without Borders."  I've been through a lot of changes in the past year- changes which were both liberating and transformative including overcoming alcoholism/substance abuse, codependency, and a laundry list of other struggles (some of which I'm still in the process of rebelling against).  Having experienced this freedom in my own life, I've sort of replaced my addiction with this insatiable need to see others set free. In short I have been shown what is good and am seeking to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God. (Micah 6:8)

I have also been learning that the best way to extricate myself from the perilous realm of complacency is to get completely outside of my comfort zone.  And that it is way harder to bask in my own self-pity while working for mutual benefit in solidarity with the less fortunate.  I'm infinitely grateful for the change in my life, and would certainly appreciate any support in furthering the momentum of this change as it impacts those who I have the privilege of reaching out to.

Why Cambodia? "Church without Borders" has a close relationship with a community of people in Phnom Pehn, Cambodia. As a group we would be traveling with Steps of Justice and have plans to build a home for a family there, run a makeshift clinic in several communities, and learn more about the programs that are already in place on the ground (and I might eat a tarantula) . Cambodia is a beautiful country, filled with great food, smiling people, beautiful sights, and a devastating history. There is a hunger in Cambodia for the gospel to be preached and for physical needs to be met. There is a huge population that lives in extreme poverty, and Cambodia is widely known for it’s sex industry. It would be a privilege to be apart of of what God is doing in Cambodia, specifically with ministries like YWAM, IJM, World Vision, Rock Foundation Cambodia, Agape International, and Hagar International.

So how does this break down?

$800 for a plane ticket
$700 for living expenses for a 2 week trip
$110 passport
$50  to cover gofundme fees

I need to have raised at least enough money to purchase my plane ticket & passport by the end of January.

Thank you again for considering supporting me in this adventure.
