Send Jason to Gen Con!

Here are two things that are true about our dear friend, Jason:
1. He is turning 40 on August 12.
2. He is a huge geek.
One of Jason's true joys in life is gaming, and one of the ways he has been able to embrace that joy is by going to Gen Con, a gaming convention that happens annually in Indianapolis. Due to circumstances beyond his control, including some pretty heart-wrenching things like the death of his father, the past couple of years have been fairly rough for Jason. He was convinced that he wasn't going to be able to make it for a third year in a row, and since this is something he looks forward to every year, it's time to break the cycle.
That's where we all come in. In the spirit of Big Deal Birthdays, and our love for Jason, a few of us are banding together to raise enough money for him to get to Gen Con - which happens to be the same week as his 40th birthday. (Kismet! Fate! Good scheduling!) A few of us thought, "If Jason won't treat himself to his most favorite thing in the world for his birthday, we will." Let's work together to give him the best possible present for his 40th birthday: a weekend of not being a grownup.
In case you're wondering, this is not a surprise. Jason is aware of this campaign - and has begrudgingly accepted the fact that people like him and might want to help see him be happy.
So... if you are willing, please consider making a donation for as much as you are able. We are looking to raise $1300 by July 30 in order to make this trip viable. A birthday donation from $10-25 (or more, if you are both willing and able!) will go a long way toward making this happen.
